New Quickdraw website up and running

The new Quickdraw web site is now up and running. if you are reading this you have found it!
The motivation behind having a new web site was to create something more interactive. Something that members, especially the children, could contribute to. Currently profiles for the climbers that can be updated by their owners have been implemented. A Chat Room and Blogs for each member are also in place. Parents get to post to the forum and add news items and calendar items.
Much of the internal club business such as committee meeting minutes are now only visible when logged in.
This is just the beginning; other features can be added but right now we need members to get involved adding interesting things and getting used to it all.
It's intended that the website is for everyone to contribute to so that hopefully it will become a dynamic focus for the Club.
We will need some people to take on the role of editors. They will be able to exercise some control over the content of the site and give it some direction. If you fancy doing something like that please step forward!
Great Job. How do you want the historic photos? I don't have many but.... Should i disk them or can we upload them to the specific event e.g. mentoring session? Or do you have them all from the previous site?AMB
I think it's best to put them on Picasa or Flikr and then embed them on this site. See blog http://quickdrawclimbingclub.org.uk/node/83 - at least that's what I'm suggesting until I find out the disadvantages of doing it that way :)
This way you get to keep control over your photos.
