World Youth Climbing Championships - 9 - 12th Sept 2010 - EICA
Submitted by avril on 6 September, 2010 - 15:38Best of luck to Eleanor and Rachel this Thursday and Friday and all our friends from Ratho and further afield who are also representing the GB team. Best of luck too to all our Quickdraw members and parents who are turning out to volunteer at the event. Events like this can't go ahead without volunteers so your contribution is appreciated. We hope to have a Quickdraw fundraising Tattoo and Face painting stall but still require helpers. Don't be shy.

The team that will represent GB at the World Youth Championships in September was announced on Sunday and will include Eleanor Hopkins and Rachel Carr in the Youth B girls category. Ross Kirkland, who is currently suffering tendonitis will be assessed at the end of August.
Our mentors Natalie Berry and Jonny Stocking will join them, together with fellow Scots, Paul Williamson, Jonny Field, Robert Mackenzie, Dylan Mackenzie and Steven Addison. This means the Scots could account for nearly 50% of the GB team.

YCS British Final- Well Done Andrew!
Submitted by avril on 14 June, 2010 - 08:48
That was some weekend. 187 climbers and families and still room to move around. Couldn't have done that at many other climbing walls.
Biggest congratulations for the day must go to Andrew Barr, the only Scotland South member to make it onto the podium. Big achievement when you consider that he didn't even qualify for the finals last year. So if you didn't do as well as you would have liked this year don't get disheartened, just get training.
